Marché Lévis : One of the most beautiful open markets in Paris. In the past, political meetings used to take place within this area with famous figures like Victor Hugo or Auguste Blanqui. Today, fruits and vegetable merchants have replaced them.
L'Arc de Triomphe & les Champs-Elysées : Located four metro stations from the hotel (about 7 minutes), the Champs-Elysées deserve the nickname "the most beautiful avenue in the world". You can shop, stroll or take a gourmet break in one of the many restaurants or cafés.

Musée Nissim de Camondo : Overlooking the Parc Monceau, this aristocratic residence was bequeathed in 1935 by Count Moïse de Camondo to the Central Union of Decorative Arts to become the Nissim-de-Camondo Museum in 1936, in memory of his son Nissim. More than 800 pieces evoke the great artists of the time. There are magnificent pieces of furniture, paintings and sculptures. Not to be missed! 63 rue de Monceau. Tel: 01 53 53 89 06 50. Jacquemart André Museum: This house used to be the residence of the Andrés family, famous collectors who travelled Europe to acquire all the work now exhibited. In 1913, the museum was already considered as one of the Art Centre in Paris. 158 boulevard Haussmann. Tel: +33 (0)1 45 62 11 59. Open every day from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm.
Musée Cernuschi : Henri Cernuschi was a banker but also a bronzes lover. After a two-year journey in Asia, he brought back a unique work of Asian art that he bequeathed to the city of Paris in 1896. 7 avenue Vélasquez. Tel: +33 (0)1 53 96 21 50. WALKS FROM THE HOTEL
Near the Glasgow Monceau hotel: Parc Monceau and the Batignolles district
Sur la rive droite de Paris : You may opt for a great walk on the Right Bank in order to miss nothing of the secrets of the French capital. Join the Arc de Triomphe, by crossing the Parc Monceau. In the distance, you may see the famous Obelisk of Place de la Concorde. Then, join the Champs-Elysees: the most famous avenue of Paris, with its luxury shops, restaurants, cinemas and hotels. During your walk, you may go along the Avenue Montaigne, the most luxurious street of Paris or The Grand Palais and its bright green nave. The Palais de l'Elysée (French President House) is located on the left sidewalk. Then cross the Tuileries Garden and admire the famous Louvre Pyramid. To finish, walk along the quay to the Island of La Cité.
A good walk in Paris : Paris offers a wide range of interesting routes. Follow the waterways: the banks of the Seine, of course, but also the Saint Martin Canal or the old route of the Strasbourg railway. Enjoy a moment of relaxation in one of the capital's green spaces: the Luxembourg Gardens, Buttes-Chaumont, Parc Montsouris or Parc Georges Brassens. For its history and architecture, take a walk in the famous Saint-Germain des Prés district and towards the Saint-Sulpice Church.
Parc Monceau : Need calm and greenery? The beautiful Parc Monceau, dating from the 17th century, is only a few metres from the hotel. Join rue de Tocqueville and turn left towards rue Cardinet, which you will go up to boulevard Malesherbes on your left. Join the rue de Phalsbourg and continue straight ahead towards Boulevard de Courcelles. Here you are in front of one of the most elegant parks in Paris. Enter through the large wrought iron gates and admire the mansions bordering the garden. Stroll and discover the statues, the Renaissance arcade and the large pool. An ideal place to jog in the morning!
Montmartre : Visit the heights of Montmartre and its cobblestone streets. One of the most authentic neighbourhoods of the capital! From the metro station Anvers, walk up the street Steikerke. You will stand face to the famous Basilica of the Sacred Heart that overlooks Paris. You will have the choice to choose to climb the hill by stairs or thanks to the funicular. At the top of the hill you will enjoy breath-taking views of Paris. Join the Place du Tertre on the left of the Basilica: traditional restaurants, painters and accordionists will immerse you in the mood of the famous movie Amélie Poulain. Walk down the cobbled streets and countless stairs. Montmartre cemetery, located not far away, hosts the graves of many famous figures such as Stendhal, Zola, Gustave Moreau, Michel Bergé or Dalida.
Batignolles Square : From Hotel Glasgow Monceau, turn left on Félicité Street. Go straight to reach the boulevard Pereire and go on your right. Join Pont Cardinet train station and then turn left to reach Batignolles square, a romantic garden with waterfalls, caves, a rotunda and a small and lovely lake.

PARISIAN MONUMENTS
Symbol of the capital, the Eiffel Tower rises to a height of 325 m and offers a unique view of Paris and its surroundings! Built in 2 years, 2 months and 5 days, it was erected on the occasion of the 1889 Universal Exhibition: an essential monument!
Montmartre et la Basilique du Sacré Coeur : In Romano-Byzantine style, the basilica crowns the hill of Montmartre. Begun in 1875, its construction was completed in 1914. Admission is free, but access to the crypt and dome is charged (about 5 euros). To save yourself a little fatigue, you can take the funicular. From the Antwerp metro station, start climbing up the hill to rue Tardieu where the funicular station is located. Until the 19th century, Montmartre was only a village, located outside the walls of the Parisian fortifications. The film Amélie Poulain gives you a nice overview of this place that you must absolutely visit... and which has no less than 7 museums!
L'Ile de la Cité: once known as Lutetia, l'Ile de la Cité is the oldest district of Paris. Located on the Seine between Châtelet and Saint-Germain-des Prés, l'île de la Cité is home to many must-see sites: the Pont Neuf bridge, the Pont de l'Archevêché bridge, the Palais de Justice, Notre-Dame cathedral, the Sainte-Chappelle, the Conciergerie. When you have finished visiting all the sights, stroll along the banks of the Seine and stop to watch improvised concerts by wandering musicians. Ile de la Cité is also the perfect place for a riverside picnic and to enjoy the magic feeling of summer nights in Paris!
La Tour Eiffel: The "Iron Lady" of Paris was built for the 1889 World's Fair, which commemorated the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution. The Tower is 324 metres tall. Daily from June 21st to September 2nd from 9:00 a.m. to 12:45 a.m. to the rest of the year from 9:30 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. (for athletics types the stairways are open from 9:30 am to 6: 30 p.m)

(Re) discover the masterpieces of the impressionist painters at the Musée d'Orsay:
Manet, Degas, Courbet, Renoir...
Musée d’Orsay : Refurbished in the former Orsay station located on the platforms of the 7th arrondissement, it houses the largest collection of impressionist and post-impressionist works in the world. The Musée d'Orsay also presents Western Art from 1848 to 1914 with sculpture, painting, decorative, graphic and photographic arts. 4,000 works are on permanent display. Open from 9:30 am to 6 pm and until 9:45 pm on Thursdays. Closed on Mondays.
Musée du Louvre : Certainly one of the most mythical places in Paris, the Louvre Museum and its famous pyramid in the heart of the capital offers an exceptional collection of arts and antiques. With its 60,600 m2 and 460,000 works, including the very famous paintings of the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo, it is considered the largest museum in the world. Open from 9am to 6pm. Nocturnes on Wednesdays and Fridays until 9:45 pm. Closed on Tuesdays.
National art and culture centre Georges Pompidou : Also known as "Beaubourg", this great original building offers a modern art collection and houses one of the three biggest collections of modern and contemporary art in the world. It also welcomes temporary exhibitions and offers restaurants, a cinema and show halls. The first European Public Library is located on several floors in the building. You may also enjoy breath-taking views of Paris on the last floor. Open from 11:00am to 9:00pm. Closed on Tuesdays.
